The Level Ex Life Science Division Has Been Acquired by Relevate Health!
Big News! Level Ex has been acquired! …Again!
I’ll explain:
Continuing to grow rapidly since its acquisition by Brainlab in 2020, Level Ex has been quietly and strategically undergoing a “mitosis” from one studio into two:
1) A clinical games studio using best practices from casual games, serving the life sciences industry
and
2) A surgical games studio, using best practices from AAA games, serving the medtech industry (including Brainlab).
I’m thrilled to announce that Relevate Health, a leading pharma marketing agency has successfully acquired Level Ex’s life sciences business. Relevate has also acquired the Level Ex brand – by far the strongest brand name in medical games.
This milestone marks a reason to celebrate across two industries: games and healthcare.
The apex achievement in the games industry isn’t creating a successful game. It’s genre creation: expanding the relevance of games to new audiences and markets.
A key characteristic of a genre? There’s more than one studio making games in it!
As layoffs plague a games industry that struggles to find where its next growth engine will come from, we know that professional games (like medical games) offer a massive expansion opportunity. And with this acquisition we continue to lead the way in revealing that opportunity.
The healthcare industry will continue to see rapidly expanding benefit – now from two studios: Each one supremely focused on leveraging a different set of video games industry design methodologies, production approaches, and technologies to best serve its specific set of medical professional players and industry customers.
